So what was Munoz's result then. The pdfs still list him as 14:19, which is insane if someone could come off the radar and run that time (but I suspect it isn't accurate, hope it is though). I assume garfield isn't the LACS garfield, which section is this school in?

We have to assume that this is Pedro Munoz of Garfield LACS that was entered in race 60, but was somehow picked up in error in race 60. Looking at history, he ran 20:12 at Clovis and 12:28 at Fastback, which makes it clear this isn't some new star on the scene.

We are going to adjust the RS and TFX results to show him 7 minutes slower in race 59, (7 minutes being the difference in scheduled start times), so 22:19.

Mt. Sac does the PDFs and we have no control of those, but hopefully they will be updated as well.

Instagram was a slammed with pics from the meet. Here's a few of the best I saw.

Pedro Munoz was in race 59, misplaced into results of race 60.

Is Fahy OK? He looked to be in a really bad spot at the finish.

The results are all off by a few seconds it seems, but some more than others. Is the device recording the chip the square object that is attached to the top of that 3 foot high black pole about 10 feet beyond the finish line? Or is it a mat that is beyond the line and not in sight? http://www.dyestatca...video_id=100385 Guys who continue jogging through the finish have "official" times that are roughly 2 seconds slower than the clock time when they go through the finish. Guys like Jacob Ogden, who then walk immediately after the finish line, are credited with a time about 4 seconds slower than the clock time. In fact, in Ogden's example, he comes in at 15:12, gets credited with a 15:16, and then Warren's Barragan comes in at 15:13 and jogs past Ogden and is credited with a 15:15 ahead of Ogden. I would be interested to see if they had to adjust Fahy's chip time since he fell at the finish line.

Yes I was thinking the same thing. I'm not certain what the point of the matt is, since the chips were attached to the bibs, not the shoes. I think this was throwing times off for many runners, and that's unfortunate.

Enjoyed watching Mt. SAC.......the views of the hill climbing conveyed how tough the course is. What other courses offer such a true XC trust for the preps? Van Courtlland has its ups and downs but length is shorter although it can configure longer. Saw NCAAs there about 40 years ago...UTEP won.

Not sure how to rate Haney's performance. Somewhere it was said he had tired leg, which most runners will confirm does happen...climbing those hills probably did not help.
Bottom line is that there is a lot of depth in the California among the boys. Arcadia has super team and proved its depth.
Among the girls, Baxter distanced the Calif. girls. So who is really no. 2? Poor Maxwell, she has had four years of this!

Haney's performance is a throw away, or at the very most points to him not doing well on very steep hills that are rarely tackled in XC anyway. He's been traveling a lot, to colleges and invitationals, so you just can't read into this effort today. De La Rosa must have been sick; you can't lose that much fitness in such a short span.

As for telling De La Rosa and Rocha apart on the fly, I'm pretty sure Rocha's legs are twice the size of De La Rosa's.

I rescored the D3 Sweeps race for boys and girls and there were significant changes in both fields based on the video on this site.

It looks as if #2 is Samantha Ortega of Saugus who ran 16:47, winning by just over a minute, near the end of Saturday's racing.

Too bad the crack Mountievision crew did not show a single moment of the Girls D2 Subsweeps race, concentrating instead on an earlier girls varsity race and then on a boys JV race.

Here comes De La Rosa!!

My apologies for identifying Arcadia's Philip Rocha as Estevan De La Rosa. In my defense, De La Rosa cut his hair like Rocha's which makes it much harder to tell them apart in the heat of a race!

Wow Peter Munoz of Garfield wins Varsity Boys (race 60) in 14:19! Where did that come from? Is this a mistake? Isn't that a course record?
